I’ve used and paid for teamviewer for years in remoting into Windows computers.

Recently my mom got stuck on her iPad. I tried using my team viewer and was told it is free unless you already have a paid license, then I needed to pay another hefty fee. That hardly seems reasonable.

What is a method to support family/friends who have an iPad when I have a windows computer?

We both have Microsoft teams and google accounts for hangouts but have never used video conferencing or screen sharing yet.

I simply need to see her iPad screen to help her navigate once in a while. It needs to be EASY on my mom’s end.

      Thank you.

      Hello Lloyd,

Great question. I have yet to find a better solution for remote controlling an iPad, I have been successfully using Team Viewer Quick Support which is completely free and will allow you to only remotely view the end users ipad and you can use that to direct the user on navigating the iPad to resolve whatever issue you are working with.

If I do find something better I will be sure to post it here.

It is free, unless you have a paid version installed. Then TeamViewer charges a hefty fee to support iPads.

      Waterskier,

You could log out of your account to circumvent that issue while supporting your mother.

Search for a program called Ultraviewer. I used Teamviewer for years, probably at least a decade and I found that it randomly started nagging me that it has detected commercial use and started shutting down on me. I don’t know what they did or determined, I only use the program at home to connect to other computers on my home network . Ultraviewer works very well and it literally looks like a Teamviewer clone.
