Cannot forward I messages to e mail address
Hi. I heard Kim give a tip as to how to forward my I message to my e mail address for filing purposes.
I have been unable to do this.
I went to Kim’s website and typed in ‘forwarding I message to e mail’ and was instructed to go to settings > messages> forwarding text messages, but I have no such setting on my I pad under the above config settings.THEN I tried going to the message I wanted to forward, and holding my finger down until little boxes appeared on the left of each portion of the message, Ticked each box I wanted to save, then pressed the little right facing arrow at the bottom of the screen, entered my e mail address and still the message did not send. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Alice,
It seems you are going through the correct motions, I wonder if the messages and ending up in your junk mail or spam folder. Could you try forwarding to an alternative email address as a test, also let us know who your phone carrier is as this could be an underlying issue if they are a smaller carrier. Lastly here is what Apple has to say.

Actually, I am trying to forward my text message from my i pad I message to my e mail address, to save the I message in my mail files.
I think I have successfully done this before but cannot seem to make it work now!

Hello Alice,
What were the results of trying to forward to an alternative email address? Also what version of IOS are you running. You can use this guide here to check. Additionally you can always sync your iMessages to your iCloud account as show here.

IOS 13.4.1 I pad
In settings I can only set ‘ you can receive messages aNd reply from the following address.. I put my principle e mail address here.
I went to my address book and found another e mail address of mine, but for some reason I cannot figure out how to add it to my I message addresses.
When I type it in, in I message as if to send a message,the e mail address turns red, and the message will not send. Any message.not just a forwarded message.
Nothing about forwarding either on my I pad or otherwise.
Any suggestions?

FINAl answer.. cannot forward texts ( I messages) to an e mail address from I pad.
Could only copy the portions of the message desired and paste onto a new e mail and send it to yourself.
