Ricardo from Roswell, New Mexico is a public school educator who wants to teach his students how to be responsible when they’re on the web. I told him to show his students my Kids’ Tech Contract. This three-page PDF is an agreement signed between parents and children, but he can adapt it for his classroom.

I created this contract so parents could set ground rules for when kids are allowed to use those devices — and when they can’t, like when they need to complete their chores. It also educates kids on the risks of online activities, like cyberbullying and cybersecurity threats.

It teaches kids the importance of becoming responsible digital citizens. Overall, it’s a great way for kids to realize that using the internet isn’t all fun and games; it comes with a lot of strings attached.
