My family has four Windows 10 laptops and we have been using Webroot antivirus for several years. I want to change antivirus products to something like Total AV. But I am concerned about exposing my laptops to viruses on the internet during this change. There are different recommended procedures on the internet but I wanted to know the safest procedures that are recommended by the Komando.com community. Can you help me?
As long as you are not doing anything between uninstalling your old Anti Virus software and installing the new Anti Virus software you will be fine.
You might want to make sure you have downloaded the install file and put it on a thumb drive for you to carry to each computer to install the new Anti Virus software.
Hello John,
Thank you for getting back to me but I now realize that I should ask more specific questions because i have never done this before. Should I download and install the new antivirus software while the current antivirus software is still working? If the answer is no and I need to uninstall the current software first, won’t my laptop be vulnerable while I am downloading and installing the new software. I hope that makes sense.
