Such a great question, as a Zip drive will cost a few hundred dollars, manual disassembly and cutting the disk mylar into strips will suffice.
You can click or tap here for a disassembly video, alternatively, you could use a couple of pairs of pliers to get the mylar disc out of its casing before cutting it into strips.
