    Christina from San Antonio, Texas wanted to make a new friend on Facebook. Soon, the so-called “friend” started asking for gift cards. Eventually, he asked her to spend $5,000 on him. She said no. Then the threats rolled in.

    Here’s what you can learn from her situation. First, don’t pay attention to scammers trying to scare you. Head straight to the Internet Crime Complaint Center:

    File a complaint here. Don’t worry about not being heard. The FBI looks at every report.
