Hi all. I’m not sure this is the best forum to post a question but I’ll ask and someone can re-direct me if best. I recently finished a two year contract working in Singapore (and enjoyed it much) but I felt it was important to maintain business contacts via my phone just as if I was living in USA. So I kept TMobile and added a monthly Sim plan from Singtel while I lived there to allow me to do banking, pay taxes, etc. That cost over $110 US dollars combined (TMobile was $75 alone) and inconvenient since I had to change Sim cards to bank. So I will be heading back to Asia to begin part time retirement and living in a few different countries.
1) Is there any other Phone Plan besides TMobile which allows foreign travel without forcing your contacts to dial a +1 for a reasonable rate?
2). I have been using an Iphone 7+ which I am not very fond of, and would like to go back to Android. Any suggestions as to a great $4-500 budget range phone that would serve well in most of Asia and the US?
Thanks!
Thanks for using the forums for such a great question. If you are looking to upgrade you phone you should definitely pick one up that is capable of housing two nano SIM cards at the same time. Some new phones that should fall within your budget and will support 5G are about to be released, the OnePlus Nord (two SIM slots) and the Google Pixle 4a (one physical one esim). Another good phone would be the Samsung Galaxy A71. Click here to see 2020’s top 12 dual sim smart phones. I was able to locate a neat cheat sheet for comparing Singapore SIM only providers and it looks like Zero 1 offers the best bang for your buck.
