My PC has a Blu-ray optical drive installed but I cannot seem to play any Blu-ray DVD movies. The drive seems to work OK – I just can’t play the Blu-ray discs. If I need special software (shouldn’t my PC have come with such software installed?), what do you recommend for a home user. Thanks.
Hello robbelothe,
You can click here for free software that will play most blu ray’s. however, it does not support most of the interactive menus. If you are looking for full support of the interactive menus you will want to take a look at Power DVD from Cyberlink.
If you purchased the Computer with the BD-ROM drive, it should have come with software such as Power DVD for playing Blu Ray media. If the drive was purchased separately most of the time the vendor offers free software so you may want to check the vendor page for your model device to see if there is a free download available.
If you let us know your make / model of your pc we may be able to track down the software for you.
Thanks. My computer is a Dell XPS 8930 Special Edition Chassis (460 watts) with an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8700K 6-core Processor. Its a little over 3 years old.
Hello robbelothe,
I was unable to determine if the Cyberlink software was available for your model hardware. If you click here and download the Dell Digital Delivery app, if the software was available when you purchased your machine it will show up as a download fo you once you run the app.
Thanks for the help.
