      Hello Wally,

      This reason alone is why I never use a Microsoft account on any of my Windows based machines, once everything is working you should always create a local admin account as shown here.

      Once you account is unlocked you can follow this guide to convert it to a local account.

      If you keep trying to sign into your Microsoft account you should be presented with steps to follow to unlock your account. How to unlock your account from Microsoft.

      If you were using an outlook.com, hotmail.com, msn.com account, you should first verify that you can even log into your email. You may be presented with options to unlock your account.

      Last ditch effort, you can do a refresh install of Windows without losing data by creating new installation media.

      @Wally

      It has now been almost four months that I have not had access to any part of my microsoft account. I have filled out a form several times because they kept telling me to do the same thing over and over and I should get a different response. I did a fresh install. I have called several times with no results. They have continued to bill me for the products that I am not able to use. I really don’t have money to through away like this as I am on a fixed income. They all understand but it seems that they don’t care. I don’t know where to turn. My health is also being affected.
