I recently got a warning of hard drive issues on my computer. Then I realized it is 9 years old! I upgraded the RAM to 16 last year which made it tolerable. I mainly use my desktop for photoediting. Mostly Lightroom and Photoshop CC. I don’t want to under buy but I don’t want to over buy. What should I look for?

I should mention that I am an ipad and iphone user on a PC budget, but I am considering splurging. Once again I don’t want to buy to much but I don’t want to go too cheap and not be happy with it. Thanks!

I suggest that you consider a new computer with a SSD (solid state drive). There are some good deals on refurbished computers too.

      Hi Traci,

Wow, 9 years that’s a long time. If you are using an iPhone and iPad, have you considered an iMac?

Yes. I am considering a Mac. Waiting for the mall to open Friday…God willing and if the hurricane doesn’t strike!

Well, I wanted an Apple Watch and bought a Fitbit. I now have an Apple Watch and my friend has an expensive Fitbit. I did not want to make same mistake with computer. I bit the bullet and bought an iMac. Love the way everything updates each other. Delete or edit pic on computer and same thing happens on phone and iPad. Nice.

      Which Mac?

Help! What do I need? Don’t want overkill but don’t want to cheap out and be unhappy! The most intensive thing I do is Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC. No gaming. My friend gave me hers (she thought it was broken) to try. It works fine but is a little slow.
